YFR is my place to be real and open with myself and with you. Living healthy and keeping myself in check with exercising and eating cleaner is definitely a progressive journey. It helps me to see how far I’ve come by tracking my progress here. There are days where I feel disgusted with myself for overindulging on unhealthy foods. Or when I fall off the tracks of working out or have zero motivation to do anything that involves moving. Point is I constantly struggle, and could use all the motivation and support I can get. I hope to find accountability through sharing and being open with you. I intend for this to be a no-judgment zone, so I kindly ask that you respect that and trust me to do the same for you. Did I always eat healthy? No. Living in New York City and being surrounded with fast-food, restaurants […]
Hello 🙂 Welcome to Yumfitrun. Blogging was something I wrestled with for a while. Simply because I wasn’t sure whether it’s possible for me to blog in a way that is with humility and grace. But I assure you that that is my goal. I am a Christian-believer. I love fitness and strive to live a healthy and intentional life that glorifies God. The focus of this blog is on figuring out how to live a life of fitness, faith, health and wellness. My hope is that through this blog, by sharing my progress I can keep myself better-balanced between these things that are all important to me. Yumfitrun is about keeping it real with God, working hard and discovering who you are, all while gaining physical, mental and spiritual strength. Through God’s word, self-discovery and living with gratitude, I will aim to share both the highs and lows. Criticism will always […]
I attended my first Blog Conference in July 2015. It was a great learning experience. Both empowered and inspired — it was a lot of fun! Canadian Lentils // I was invited to a private event hosted by Canadian Lentils. A group of about 25 of us got to take a nice ride up to Harlem in a party bus to Chef Marcus Samuelsson’s restaurant, Red Rooster. Everything on the menu curated by the Chef himself, was delicious. Both the appetizer, Gravlax, and the entree, duo of lentil-dusted catfish and braised short ribs were thebomb.com! Mmmm.. Met an Inspiring Blogger Friend // This is Liv, the creator of UnbelievablyHuman – her work reflects her personality, which is fun and positive! Disney Ice Cream Social // This is Ashlyn, The Pedantic Foodie, a sweet blogger with a cute blog you should totally go check out. Her food pictures are seriously amazing. Sally from Sally’s Baking Addiction was really nice and gave me a […]
Hi! I’ve decided to share something I consider pretty personal: why I decided to call it quits on the alchy. You see those pictures of me up above? I’m not proud of them. I’m glad I can say, those are pictures of the old me. My request is that IF you do decide to read this, please read all the way through.. even if you start to get bored! (Honor system, thanks!) Let me start off by saying, the sake of this post was written to simply share why I chose to stop drinking alcohol.. And is NOT meant to criticize those who drink, the act of drinking, clubbing or partying. With that said, I respect you for your choices, so thank you for respecting mine. I wasn’t an alcoholic. I never drank alone. I wasn’t a habitual partygoer. But when I did go out from time to time, I drank to feel young […]
